Why did you change your name to VITAL FCU?

After studies and research, we discovered the current name had limitations and barriers. We wanted to position the credit union positively for healthy, sustainable growth and still remain authentic and true to our beginning. VITAL represents a new energy within our credit union and the opportunity to build our membership base by reaching a greater number of people in the community.

What is the difference between a VISA debit card and a VISA credit card?

When using a debit card, the money is drawn from your checking account. The amount of the purchase must be available in the account at the time the purchase is made. When using a credit card, the funds are borrowed against your available credit card line. That money is paid back with monthly payments.

What is the difference between a credit union and a bank?

Credit Unions can charge lower rates for loans as well as pay higher dividends on savings because they are nonprofit cooperatives. Rather than paying profits to stockholders, Credit Unions return earnings to members in the form of dividends or improved services.
