Announcement from the Secretary of the Board of Directors
Vital Federal Credit Union will hold the 2017 Annual Meeting at 3:30 PM, Thursday March 23, 2017, in the Heart Center Auditorium, located at SRMC 358b, Serpentine Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The Vital Federal Credit Union Nominating Committee recommended incumbent Larry Lloyd and Gene Kilcawley to be placed on the 2017 ballot for the Board of Directors. In addition, no nominations were received via petition. As a result, the board secretary will cast a unanimous ballot for election of the persons nominated above at the annual meeting.
The election of volunteers will not be conducted by ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor at the Annual Membership Meeting when the number of nominees equals the number of positions to be filled.

Larry Lloyd
US Army Veteran – served from 1958 to 1964
Education: Graduated from Salem High School, Salem, NJ in 1957. Attended
Philadelphia College of the Bible from 1974-1979 where I received a diploma in Biblical
Studies.
Retired 18 years ago, after 36 years of service from du Pont Chambers Works in
Deepwater, NJ. I was responsible for inventory control, mil costs and cost control.
My Credit Union experience was with the Deepwater Industries Federal Credit Union in
Deepwater, NJ, serving for 29 years, in the following capacities:
Eight years on the Credit Committee approving loans.
Two years on Supervisory Committee (internal auditing).
Nineteen years on the Board of Directors as Vice Chairman and the last five years as
Treasurer.
Assets/Liability Committee.
Executive Committee helping to develop the budget for the last several years.
Attended many Credit Union educational conferences all over the United States
pertaining to Bank Secrecy Act, became certified in understanding balance sheet
and other financial documents, Risk Management, security, changing economic
conditions, etc.
I have been serving on the Vital Credit Union Board of Directors since August 2014.
My wife, Barbara, and I attend Faith Baptist Church of Reidville.
I believe in the Credit Union movement and its motto “People Helping People”.

Gene Kilcawley

Post-Secondary Education
1986-1989- Webster University, St. Lewis, MO, Master of Management
1974-1977- Coker College, Hartsville, SC, BS Business

Employment History
1990-2014- Senior Army JROTC Instructor at four different high schools in South Carolina and Tennessee. Taught students in values, responsibility, accountability, physical fitness, nutrition, citizenship, history, and leadership.
1966-1990- Worldwide assignments with US Army. Served in leadership positions from small through large units, both overseas and stateside.

Boards of Directors Service
Served for three years (2005-2008) on Church Council
Serve as second vice president of Daniel Morgan Chapter of Military Officers Association of America responsible for scholarships and awards
Served on several committees for Twin Lakes Homeowner Association
Served on several Boy Scout and Parent Teacher Board positions

Community Volunteer Activities
Reading mentor for students. Visit with residents at Rose Crest. Volunteer Bus Driver. Assist teachers on school field trips. American Legion coordinator for Oratorical Contest in Chesnee.

Married to Victoria Kilcawley, Nurse Practitioner at Spartanburg Regional
